Dr. Ford was born in St. Louis , Missouri and raised in western Kentucky . He graduated Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with a chemistry degree. While attending University of Louisville medical school he graduated Magna Cum Laude. After completing his training, he practiced cornea and external disease as an assistant professor at Wake Forest University Eye Center for 5 years. He joined Eye Associates Of Tallahassee in June of 2000.

Dr. Ford is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has recently undergone recertification. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Cornea Society, the FMA, the AMA, the Florida Ophthalmology Society and he is on the board of directors of the Capital Medical Society.

His wife, Cay, is a Florida native. They have two daughters and one son.
